After completing an apprenticeship in banking Robert Orlowski studied Economics in Munich and focused on Econometrics and Economic Policy. During his studies he worked one term in Nigeria. He received a German Diploma (M.Sc. equiv.) in Economics in 2007. In September 2007 he joined the chair of Prof. Regina T. Riphahn, Ph.D., at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
